Disrespect to our Flag and Nation

You will not see this heart-stopping photo on the front page of the NY Times or on the lead story of the major news networks. The protestors put up the Mexican flag over the American flag flying upside down at Montebello High School in California .

I predict this stunt will be the nail in the coffin of any guest-worker/amnesty plan on the table in Washington .. The image of the American flag subsumed to another and turned upside down on American soil is already spreading on Internet forums and via e-mail.

Pass this along to every American citizen in your address books and to every representative in the state and federal government. If you choose to remain uninvolved, do not be amazed when you no longer have a nation to call your own nor anything you have worked for left since it will be "redistributed" to the activists while you are so peacefully staying out of the "fray". Check history, it is full of nations/empires that disappeared when its citizens no longer held their core beliefs and values. One person CAN make a difference. One plus one plus one plus one plus one plus one.........

The battle for our secure borders and immigration laws that actually mean something, however, hasn't even begun.

And a note from yours truly

This is utterly disrespectful to our nation and our flag. If you love Mexico so dang much then why aren't you living there. GO HOME. Our men and women do not serve to protect idiots like you nor did some of them give their lives so you could fly the mexican flag above MY upside down flag. These people should be charged with treason and threating the sovereignty. Or they should be deported immediately.

GOD BLESS AMERICA

Tom

freedom of speech is a core value, no matter how offensive it is..

are you kidding me? Are you a commi or a Mexican? If you do not see what is wrong with this then you are not an American. Or if you are an American you shouldn't be.

The problem with America is that there are people like you who don't see anything wrong with this.

This is not freedom of speech. Let us define a few things because obviously you don't know the meaning of freedom of speech.

Bill of Rights
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

by dictionary.com
freedom of speech
: the right to express information, ideas, and opinions free of government restrictions based on content and subject only to reasonable limitations (as the power of the government to avoid a clear and present danger) esp. as guaranteed by the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution

Break it down even more
free speech
:The right to express any opinion in public without censorship or restraint by the government.

And even further
Main Entry: speech
Function: noun
: the communication or expression of thoughts in spoken words

Freedom of Speech is spoken words not flying the flippin mexican flag above an upside down American flag. If you have no pride of being an American go to whatever crap hole country you feel you belong to.

i kind of had promised that I would answer to this type of venom, but the temptation is too strong....

1. I am an American. but then so are Mexicans, Canadians, Salvadorans and Venezuelans.. we are all Americans.

2. I dont think one person in the world would agree with your interpretation of freedom of speech, which doesnt exclude freedom of expression. Thats why its legal to burn a flag..

3. I mentioned that the expression was offensive, I didnt condone it.

4. by taking a stand on this issue doesnt mean i am from another country, want to live in another country, think our country is worse or better, because of it..

5. i believe it is you who is anti-United States, not I, nor the protesters. You would have us become a nation of superpatriots without the will or the brains to protest when we feel it warranted. you would have anyone who is not in agreement sent back to the crap hole they came from, as though your ancestors had come from heaven or something. its as though from the time you arrived here, shut the doors and shut the mouths..

ready to discuss when you take your medicine and talk like a grown up

1. When you travel around the world and someone ask your nationality and you state American, do they say "oh yeah from what country?" When someone says they are American or when the terrorist say down with America they are talking about the United States of America, not down with both the north and south american continents.

2. Yes many people would agree with me. Just come down to Texas or is this too much of a red state for you? People have the right of expression. They have the right to burn the flag. However I believe that it is extremely disrespectful to fly the mexican flag above an upside down American flag at a school in the United States. If you love the freedom of expression so much and love this country at least show some respect and dignity.

3. It is offensive so why is it not all over the news. If I as a white American male would go down to the mexican consulate and burn a mexican flag outside it would make nation wide news and I would be looked at as offending the mexicans. All of the latin organizations would be in an uproar.

4. what exactly is your stand? That this action is ok and no big deal?

5. Yeah you are right, I must be the one that is anti-USA. You have seriously lost your mind.

I would love a nation of super patriots. One's that stand for what they believe in and one's that aren't scared to offend someone. At the same time they must respect this nation and what it gives you.
I would like to see what would happen to these people if they went to mexico and flew an American flag over an upside down mexican flag. Oh wait is it only offensive if it is pro-USA.
